The terms, kept short.
The rules of engagement between you and Orb55. We've written these in plain English where possible. If anything is unclear, ask.
The service
Orb55 designs and builds custom websites for clients. Engagements fall under one of three tiers, Launch, Business, or Bespoke, or a custom scope agreed in writing. The specific deliverables for your project are defined in the quote or proposal you accept.
Payment terms
Payment is split 50% on confirmation and 50% on launch, unless an alternative schedule is agreed in writing. Invoices are payable within 14 days. Prices are in GBP. We accept card and bank transfer.
Ownership & usage rights
On final payment, full ownership of the source code and design files is transferred to you. You may edit, extend, modify, host, and migrate the work freely. You may not resell or redistribute the source to third parties as-is. Any third-party assets used in the build (fonts, libraries, plugins) remain governed by their own licences.
Portfolio rights
Unless you ask otherwise in writing before launch, we reserve the right to feature the work on our portfolio, case studies, and social channels, including screenshots, excerpts of the live site, and a brief description of the project.
Revisions & scope
Launch includes minor copy and styling tweaks before launch. Business includes one round of revisions on content and styling. Bespoke projects include revisions as defined in the project brief. Additional revisions or significant scope changes are quoted separately at our standard day rate before work continues.
Timelines
Delivery windows are quoted in business days and begin once we have received the required assets from you (copy, images, logos, domain access). Delays in content delivery may extend the launch date. We'll keep you informed throughout.
Liability
We deliver the work to the best of our professional ability. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to a project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, business, or data.
Termination & refunds
You may cancel a project at any time. If you cancel after we have started work, the 50% deposit is non-refundable. The 50% launch payment covers work completed up to the point of cancellation and is non-refundable once work has progressed. If we are materially unable to deliver, you are entitled to a full refund of monies paid.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
